Non-Compliance House

Publishers

Serious books for a self-governing people.
Few titles. Chosen with care. Published without apology.

The House

A Small List, Kept Small

Non-Compliance House publishes a handful of books each year on law, liberty, and the American founding, and on the movements that would undo all three. Our authors say what is true, say it plainly, and can prove it.

We were founded on a simple observation: much of American publishing now asks writers to comply before they are permitted to argue. Manuscripts are screened for offense rather than error. Arguments are softened until they no longer say anything. Whole subjects are quietly declared closed.

We decline to take part. We publish for readers who still believe the Constitution means what it says, that the founding was an achievement worth defending, and that a free people is owed the full argument, not the permitted one.

Our Principles

Four Commitments

  1. I.

    The Republic is worth keeping.

We publish in defense of constitutional government, the rule of law, and the institutions that let a free people govern themselves.

  2. II.

    Evidence over ideology.

Every claim rests on the record: court filings, statutes, public documents, and the subject's own words. Our books can be argued with. They cannot be waved away.

  3. III.

    Fact-checkers, not sensitivity readers.

We edit for accuracy, clarity, and force. We do not edit for anyone's feelings, and we do not ask authors to apologize for conclusions the facts support.

  4. IV.

    Few books, done properly.

We would rather publish one book that lasts than ten that do not. Each title receives the full attention of the house, from manuscript to press.

I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. Thomas Jefferson · 1800

Submissions

By Referral Only

Non-Compliance House does not accept unsolicited manuscripts, and we do not hold open reading periods. Our authors come to us through people whose judgment we trust.

We look for writers with standing to speak on their subject: practitioners, scholars, veterans, public servants, and others who have done the work and kept the receipts. Credentials matter less to us than command of the facts and the nerve to state them.

If You Have Been Referred

  1. Name the person who referred you in the first line of your letter.
  2. Describe the book on a single page: its argument, its evidence, and why it must be published now.
  3. State plainly why you are the one to write it.
  4. Do not send the manuscript. If we wish to read it, we will ask.

We read every referred inquiry. We accept very few.
We reply only when we intend to proceed.
